Question

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.  (Psalm 14:1 & Psalm 53:1, KJV)

Republics are rare for a reason.  Thoughtfulness is required to overcome endless challenges.  And nothing is more dangerous than success, which leads to a tendency to take things for granted.

When America was born, it was understood what was necessary to survive:  “...(W)e mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.”  (Declaration of Independence)  But to thrive, another oath was required—to support and defend the Constitution “against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

To some, the oath means nothing.  They cannot call the Chief Traitor a domestic enemy of the Constitution!  They cannot say no to a domestic enemy of the Constitution!  They cannot arrest a domestic enemy of the Constitution!

Before crossing the Delaware, the Commander in Chief of the Continental Forces instilled the proper attitude in his troops—VICTORY OR DEATH.  They moved “with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence” and achieved their objective when things seemed hopeless.  (Declaration of Independence)  For in despair, there is always the question:  Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the one that will stand tall?

[At approximately 4:52, the flute captures the sacrifice of the man who upheld the oath.]
